Bits and pieces from the last few days

A very brief update on the Sussex Under 15 league final last Friday (September 6th) evening at K2. We had a good turn-out but for most of our athletes it was bit of a struggle. Nevertheless everybody did their best and encouraged each other with lots of cheering. When the points were added up we had finished 6th out of the 10 teams.

I have also heard from Wayne Gadd following his performance in the British Masters championships at Birmingham yesterday. A long jump of 5.87 metres gave him third place, although the 2 hurdles races didn’t go quite as well.

And last Tuesday evening we had a visit from national discus coach Andy Neal who led a session for many of our discus throwers at Imberhorne School. Many thanks to Andy and let’s hope to see the athletes throwing further when we get going again in 2014.
