Schools cross-country races on Sunday October 8

Autumn/winter training has started

After the September break our autumn/winter training got underway on Sunday morning at East Court with the playing fields rather wet after the recent rain.

The next few days will see our circuit training sessions re-starting and then on Thursday Imberhorne training gets under way with the distance runners group out on the roads of East Grinstead.

Schools cross-country races on Sunday October 8

Next Sunday for the 40th time we will be organising the East Grinstead primary schools cross-country races on the East Court playing fields. Belinda Sims has been busy making sure everything runs smoothly – if you’re not on her list of helpers but find that you can come down to help then let her know.

The primary school girls race is at 3.00 with the boys at 3.30. Earlier in the afternoon athletes in school years 7 and 8 will be running in the secondary schools races – 1.30 for girls and 2.00 for boys.

We expect to have a feature on the race in this week’s East Grinstead Gazette (and then a results feature the following week). Unfortunately the East Grinstead Courier showed no interest in the races.

On the day East Grinstead Meridian Radio will do the announcing for us while the East Grinstead Lions will be providing refreshments.

What’s happening this week ?

Monday October 2 – circuits training at Imberhorne Upper school gym from 6.30 to 7.30.

Tuesday October 3 – circuits training at Imberhorne Upper school gym from 7.30 to 8.30.

Thursday October 5 – training at Imberhorne Upper School from 7 to 8. (Distance runners training from 7.15 to 8.15.)

Sunday October 8 – Schools cross-country races at East Court.
