Last news from the 2016 summer season
Congratulations to Phil Spivey on his recent successes at the British Masters Championships in Birmingham last weekend. He came home with 2 gold medals in his pocket winning both the hammer and the weight. If you aren’t sure what the weight is then you would have seen Phil throwing it on some evenings at training. Phil now goes back home to Australia – Perth in particular – for the World Masters Championships in a few days time. We wish him well there
Looking to winter training sessions
We have another week without any training before we re-start our winter training at the start of October. I would ask you to read what follows and note in particular that there are changes in Thursday evening training at Imberhorne Upper School. In particular all athletes – whatever your age – will train together. All athletes will start at 7 o’clock and we will finish at about 8.30.
Here is a reminder of the various starting dates.
Sunday October 2 sees the first Sunday morning training at East Court. This is open to all athletes and runs from 10.30 to about 11.45. In particular Sunday mornings are not just for cross-country runners. (There will not be a session on October 9 because of the schools cross-country races – see below.)
Tuesday October 4 sees the first circuit session of the winter in the Imberhorne Upper School gym. Entry is by invitation only. Phil Rogers and Eddie Vermeer are in charge and you should contact them if you have any queries.
Thursday October 6 is the first of the outdoor winter sessions at Imberhorne Upper School. We are changing the way we operate on Thursday evenings and all athletes – regardless of age – will train at the same time from 7 to 8.30. You should bring both trainers and spikes. Usual £1.50 charge if you haven’t got a season ticket.

Social and Presentation Evening
Our annual end-of season do will take place on the evening of Friday October 14 at East Grinstead Town Football Club. It will start 1t 7.30 and we will get fuller details to you in the next few days. Put it in your diary now.
