Senior Match (adult athletes plus those in school years 10 and above) this week
The summer track and field season gets properly under way this weekend when our senior team go to William Parker School in Hastings for the first match of their season on SATURDAY APRIL 15. We will be up against three other Sussex clubs – Horsham, the combined Lewes/Haywards Heath team as well as the host club. First events are at 11 o’clock. If you are able to compete but have not yet been contacted then please get in touch with Eddie Vermeer or Lester Medcalf.
We then have matches over the following 2 April weekends with an under 13 match in early May as follows:
Saturday April 22 – under 13 and under 15 (school years 6 up to 9) at Brighton
Sunday April 30 – under 17 and under 20 (school years 10 up to 13) at Dartford
Tuesday May 2 – under 13 (school years 6 and 7) at Crawley’s K2
Very well done to Karen Wells who took part in the Brighton Marathon in yesterday’s very warm conditions. She got round in under 4 hours – 3 hours and 52 minutes – which I think is a fantastic achievement. Nicky Pumford, who some of you will know, also did very well and she was a couple of minutes behind Karen.
Have you paid your annual membership fee ?
Annual subs should have been paid by April 1. If you haven’t yet paid then please do so in the next few days. We would prefer you to pay by bank transfer, but we will of course accept cash or cheques on Tuesday or Thursday evening training sessions.
And training fees are now £2 for each session – though you can buy a training season ticket for the next year for £75.
Extra training session at Imberhorne on Wednesday April 12
We are holding an extra training session for school year 6 and 7 athletes on the morning of April 12 at Imberhorne. We have given out invitation letters to many of our athletes and e-mailed others – but if you have been missed out then please talk to one of the coaches this week.
The session will run from 9.30 to 1.00 and there is a charge of £5.
