Senior match on Saturday August 15 at Tooting Bec
A disappointingly small number of athletes were available for our last match with 6 ladies and 4 men – with Jack Sanders taking part in his first senior match in the javelin. And of course the other teams also had athletes missing, but we seemed to be affected most. Lots of gaps in our team meant that we did indeed finish last.
However the athletes who were there produced a number of excellent performances. Wayne Gadd and Dorian Szatmari produced not one but two double firsts. Wayne winning the A string high jump and Dorian the B string high jump. Then in the long jump it was the other way round with Dorian jumping exactly 6 metres. Lois Drummie and Sarah Killick-Bird also provided us with a double first in the 400 hurdles, while Abby Beswick had a number of throwing pbs. Rebekah Tyler also showed us that she’s a competent hurdler.
Thanks to all of you who took part and we look forward to next season’s matches !
