Sorry that we cancelled Thursday training at Imberhorne so late
Our apologies for calling off Thursday evening training on the track at Imberhorne at the very last minute. It wasn’t until we got down to the school at about 6.50 that we realised how much water was lying on the track. So we called it off and had to tell many of you that there was no training as you arrived.
The middle distance group, however, were able to go out on the roads for their session.
December Newsletter due out any time
Our December newsletter should soon be hitting your computers. Lots in it but I would ask you to take notice of the item about the importance of parents collecting their children from evening training in good time – especially over the autumn and winter when it is dark.
The newsletter also tells you what is happening with our training sessions over the Christmas period.
Cross-country and pole vault news
Just three athletes at the second of the Sussex cross-country league matches last Saturday. There was a late change in venue with the races eventually taking place at Stanmer Park, the same venue as the first match. James Polton was an excellent 10th in the under 11 race with brother Charlie finishing in the top half of the under 15 race. James Vermeer made his cross-country debut in the under 11 race – very well done to him.
On Sunday a couple of our pole vaulters went to Lee Valley for their first indoor competition of the winter. Cameron Wells is now an under 17 and cleared 3.25 metres while Isaac Lancaster is still an under 15 and he cleared 2.35 metres for a new pb.
