Sussex Cross-Country Championships
What are the odds that, of our 6 runners in the Sussex cross-country championships last Saturday at Bexhill, three of them would have finished in the same place ? Yes we had three athletes finishing 11th in their races – Gabi Holland in the under 13 girls race, Cameron Wells (taking a break from pole-vaulting) in the under 15 boys and Antonia Deeley in the under 17 ladies. Well done to those three and to the other three runners who didn’t finish 11th – Isaac Lancaster (also taking a break from pole-vaulting) and Noah Englishby-Allen in the same race as Cameron with James Vermeer in the under 11 boys race.
Thursday evening training
Just in case you forgot – Thursday evening training at Imberhorne has re-started as we build up to the 2019 summer track and field season which will start in three months’ time.
Mid Sussex Primary schools cross-country races on Wednesday January 16
Following our October primary school cross-country races at East Court the better state school athletes from those races will be representing the town in the Mid Sussex races on Wednesday January 16 at East Court. We will be helping to get the course ready in the morning from about 9.30 with the races starting at 1.30 for girls and 2.00 for boys. If you’ve got nothing else on then come and help us to get things ready in the morning (from about 9.30) – or just come along a bit later to support the athletes as they make their way round 3 laps of the upper field.
The better athletes from these races will then go on to represent Mid Sussex in the all-Sussex races later in the winter. Venue and date not yet known (but it’ll probably be in Brighton).
What’s happening in the next week ?
Monday January 7 – circuit training re-starts at Imberhorne.

Saturday January 12 – training for long/triple jumpers at Imberhorne from 10 to 11.30
