A busy few days coming up

Matches coming up

Our under 17s and under 20s will be back in action on Sunday June 30 at Erith as part of the composite Team Sussex – consisting of athletes from the Eastbourne, Lewes and Haywards Heath clubs as well of course as our own East Grinstead athletes – and I’ll bring you news as soon as I can. At the previous match our athletes scored more than half of the total scored by the team and we again seem to have a healthy number of our athletes taking part.

Then on Friday July 5 the next under 15 midweek match takes place at K2. Team managers Ed Kessell and Holly Brinkworth will be selecting the team in the next few days.

On Sunday July 7 a healthy number of our under 11s will compete in the Sussex Quad Kid championships at Brighton with a rather smaller number of our under 13s taking part in the under 13 championships at the same time. We wish them all well.

English Schools Championships at Birmingham on July 12 and 13

The English Schools Championships are a great event for those of you at school to aim at, and to be selected for the Championships and compete against all the best athletes in England is a very real achievement. So congratulations to Rebekah Tyler who will be representing Sussex Schools in the under 17 shot putt. We wish her well and hope that she might get over 12 metres on the day.
