Last matches of the season

Last matches of the track and field season

On Friday evening our rather depleted under 15 team went down to Brighton for the Sussex Under 15 league grand final – and while we had 7 boys we only had 3 girls. Of course we weren’t the only club to be hit by late summer holidays and I understand that we ended up coming fifth out of the 10 teams taking part – which says a lot for our athletes who competed on the evening. I don’t have the full results at the moment.

And on Sunday the under 13 team went to K2 for their Sussex Under 13 league final. Again we were missing a number of athletes, but again those that were there did their very best. I don’t have results at the moment and will update this note when

We then take a break before re-starting at Imberhorne in early October.

Sussex Combined Events Championships on September 7 and 8

We will have 3 athletes taking part in the Sussex Combined Events Championships this coming weekend at Sutton – Phil Rogers in the masters 5 event pentathlon, Rachel Tyler in the 5 event under 15 pentathlon and Rebekah Tyler in the 7 event under 17 heptathlon. We wish them all well.

What’s happening in the next week ?

Thursday September 5 – training at Imberhorne. 6.45 to 8.30 for all athletes. THIS IS THE LAST SUMMER THURSDAY EVENING SESSION. We will be back at Imberhorne in early October.

Saturday September 7 – day 1 of Combined Events Championships at Sutton.

Sunday September 8 – day 2 of Combined Events Championships at Sutton.

I do see them. Thanks to Phil Rogers for taking over as team manager for this match.

In the All England championships at Bedford we had Rebekah Tyler and Cameron Wells taking part. Both a little below their season’s best but never the less doing well.

Imberhorne Training

We are coming to the end of our evening training sessions. There is NO training on Tuesday September 3 and the session on Thursday September 5 will be the last of the summer.
